4th Friday Event: Focus on Peru

This presentation highlights Peruvian culture through food and dance and provides a brief glimpse of Peruvian historian and contemporary politics.   The recent election of Ollanta Humala, a left-leaning populist, is representative of resurgent nationalism in this country as manifested in great pride in Peru’s past, its music and dance and its cuisine.  Join the VIC’s fourth Fridays for a discussion and presentation on this fascinating country by Assistant Professor of History at Purdue University North Central, Kenneth Kincaid, and his wife, and Peru native, Sonia Rivadeneyra Kincaid.
