Valpo Grad Discusses Homeland of Bosnia

VALPARAISO | Ljubica Salamic, a Valparaiso University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in international relations, was the guest speaker at the Valparaiso International Center’s Fourth Friday series Friday evening.

Salamic and her younger sister, Nevena Salamic of Banja Luka, Bosnia, who is visiting, created a slide presentation that reviewed the geography, government, natural features, cuisine, sports and traditional clothing of Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Smaller than Indiana” in size, it is populated by 3.8 million people — mostly Bosniaks, but also Croatians and Serbians. The country is governed by three presidents who serve one four-year term.
